Favourite Move

Always the latest one I am working on, that is the most fun,

once you land that trick it is one of the best feeling in kiting

Worst Crash

About 2 years back I was out for about 2 months with a ankle

injury, I over rotated a backside 7 & landed too far over my

front, super hard & flat!

Never travel without

Passport, computer, ipod, gear

Favorite spot in the world

Every place has its own unique thing that makes it good, I

like South Africa because there are so many different

conditions, also like Brazil, England, Egypt, Oz.

On my IPOD

All sorts, Hip hop, Rock

Inspired by

Travis Pastrana, Kelly Slater, anyone who pushes the

limits of there sport

Favo Meal

Its always changing, I’m not too fussy

Best thing aboutt being a Pro Kiter

The feeling I get when I win a competition or land a new trick

- also just living the lifestyle & having good sessions with

friends is epic

Biggest challenge about going pro

Staying with the game, -you see videos & think you can do it

but in the comp its a different story. To pull through & do well

in a event is hard - it takes a few goes to get into it.

Also raising the money & getting sponsors is difficult but once

you have that & following the tour you are pretty much

there

1 piece of advise to other kiters

Follow your goals but have fun with it – the lifestyle that

follows our sport is amazing so make the most of every bit

Goal for this year

To become the 5x World Champ whilst up-ing my profile

online & with main stream media

Favourite Move

Powered back mobe

Worst Crash

In one of my first competitions I attempted to do a trick to

close to the beach with on shore winds & crashed head first

on the sand. I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance

& had a neck brace for a week. That's were I learned not to

do tricks on shore wind with less then 3m from the beach

Never travel without

My laptop computer, I have my whole life on it . Once it was

stolen - I had to manage without it for 10 days & I just

couldn't get my things organized!

Favorite spot in the world

North Brazil Cauipe & Paracuru. Bummer that these spots are

getting way o crowded .

On my IPOD

Bits of everything but I'm really into John Meyer, G. Love, Matt

Costa, just chill music

Inspired by

I don't have one person - I get inspired everyday by the

people around me. Everyone has their unique thing that can

inspire others.

Favourite Meal

Chicken Fajitas!! I could eat that everyday.

Best thing about being a Pro Kiter

Being able to do what you love 24/7 as a job . I'm very lucky

to be able to do that.

Biggest challenge about going pro

Managing the pressure to perform and keeping your

sponsors happy. You have to be careful not to have the fun

in riding taken away by that.

1 piece of advise to other kiters

Always have fun on the water, no matter what the conditions

are. Sometimes I'm having a hard day free-styling and I don't

enjoy it until I realize that the conditions are actually perfect

for surfing or big air. I recommend to try to see all the

opportunities kite offers you, being such a versatile sport

Goal for this year

Push girls riding to another level ,get the title as word

champion and the most important.....enjoy it!

Kiteboarding Tips

Tip #14 – The Front Roll
by Scott Guy

Frontroll step 1: Build up your board speedThe front roll is a relatively easy trick to learn. Here are a few simple steps to learning a front roll in which you do not need to send the kite.

First build up your board speed by shooting downwind or pumping your kite.

Frontroll step 2: Pop off the water The pop off the water is the most critical part of this trick. As you reach your maximum speed push hard into the board forcing it slightly in to the water. The board will instantly push back at you. As the board comes back at you suck your front knee upward. The key point of this trick is to bring the flip "up" before you bring it forward.

Frontroll step 3: Initiate the forward roll Once you popped off the water and have brought the board up it is time to take it forward. If done correctly your pop is going to naturally want to throw you backwards. This is where you need to aggressively throw your body forward by pushing your forward ear to your forward shoulder. This will initiate the forward roll.

Frontroll steps 4-6: Tuck and roll

To spin quickly, keep your body tucked into a small ball. If you find yourself over rotating, open your body up to stall out the rotation.

Frontroll step 7: Spot your landing

As soon as you get through the rotation spot your landing and prepare to land by softening your knees.

Frontroll step 8: Land and regain speed

As you land, point your board downwind to regain speed and continue to steer the kite to ride away. Once you have the base trick down throw in a tail grab and bone it out for extra style.
